Do I need an additional 12v battery for the Concord 4 cell communicator?

Hi, I am adding a Concord cell communicator to an existing 17-zone Concord 4 hardwired/wireless system. I have one 12V, 4.5Ah rechargeable back-up battery inside the panel. Do I need a separate battery for the cell communicator or is there a way to connect it to the existing battery using a splitter? I’m a rookie.

In the hardware pack for the Concord 4 module there will be a spade connector splitter so you can connect directly to positive power on the battery, but the negative just connects to the panel ground.

Wiring diagram can be found on page 3 of the manual.

Great; thank you!
