If a burglar cuts ethernet and jams wifi/cellular will police be dispatched once panel fails to checkin?
I’m interested in the answer to this as well. I seem to remember there being a related setting somewhere.
As a side note, it’s not a complete solution, but I have a PoE camera with onboard SD card recording aimed at the only practical location where someone could cut my Internet service. If they choose to cut the cable, it should record them doing it, even if Internet service is interrupted immediately afterward.
There is no dispatch if the panel fails to check in. You will receive notifications from alarm.com that the panel has lost communication. The default is 6 hours in which the panel will be pinged every 115 minutes. If three consecutive pings fail, alarm.com sends the panel not responding alert. This can be set to 1 hour in which alarm.com will ping the panel every 15 minutes.
I feel like it’s a good feature that should be implemented as I know it’s something surety has to enable in dealer forwarding settings to send failure to communicate to monitoring center and then request the monitoring center call the customer if they receive this trouble signal
