I accidentally triggered my alarm this weekend and I didn’t receive any notification from the ADC App (Android) when this occurred. I do see a record of the event in the history when logged in to the web app (see below).
LIVING ROOM BEAM Alarm 4:12 pm, Sep-23-2017
I do get other notifications in the app (alarm disarmed, zones bypassed, etc), so I expected I would get notification when an alarm was triggered. The central station did call me pretty quick, but I don’t want to have to rely on their call to know when my alarm is going off.
This is the first time I have triggered the alarm since you all helped me get the system set up (Thanks for all your help with that!). I never did test an actual alarm during the initial setup. Is there some additional configuration I need to do to get the app to notify me when the alarm is triggered?
I’m seeing in history that notifications for the alarm event you referenced were sent as push notifications and as email.
The only difference between the Alarm notification and others like the disarm one is that the disarm event is also being sent as a text message.
Are you looking to receive notification as a text message? Or are you saying you never saw the push notification?
If you are looking for a text message, you’ll need to add the phone contact as a recipient under the alarm notification by logging into the Alarm.com website and navigating to Notifications. Select to edit Alarm Events. Recipients are at the bottom.
If you are referring to push notifications, I do see them being sent to two phones. I would recommend testing again to verify. You can place your central station account on test mode by calling the CS and requesting per instructions in your welcome email. That way the alarm signals are not acted upon by operators and you can just test Alarm.com notifications.
I just checked, and I did receive the email alert, but no push alert through the app (on either of the two phones I have configured to receive notifications). I’ll add SMS messaging to the notification as an additional backup an do some testing as you suggested to verify the push notifications.
