Delayed Alarm.Com Commands

I can’t get Alarm.Com rules to control my 2GiG panel… again. I’ve been dealing with delayed cell commands since I installed this system.

I try and test the cell service and it has to run the test about 4 times to get a satisfactory result.

Is there something you can test on your side to see what the problem is? What is the best cell provider in my area? I thought Wi-Fi connection was being discussed with Alarm.Com.

You can determine the best carrier for your location by using our coverage check tool here.

Though it looks like you have the best carrier already. The panel is in fact reporting 100% up time over the last 30 days, and I am not seeing any indication of cellular signal trouble. I see a prior thread where an issue was being caused by a non-production firmware version. It looks like firmware has since been updated.

Is this primarily an in-bound signal delay? If that is the case it would make sense as that would not necessarily affect any outgoing signals and wouldn’t show up as a loss of communication.

Wifi with the 2GIG Go!Control Panel is available through the Go!Bridge. Yes, this adds concurrent dual path communication for inbound and outbound signals so command latency is typically removed.

Yes, primarily inbound.

I’m ordering the GoPanel. Just wondering why someone didn’t recommend this sooner. Seems to be the answer to all my problems.

Thanks

Scott

There were other indications of problems in prior threads. The non-production firmware causes a number of issues with Alarm.com communication, and there are a high number of lost Z-wave commands in the diagnostic counters, so there is (or was) local Z-wave network communication concerns.

If you are noticing delays still with inbound commands like arming and disarming from the app, that is likely a carrier tower issue, the Go!Bridge will effectively work around that issue by offering dual path.

We’re checking with ADC to see if there are other reports in the area and pass the info to the carrier.

Just enabled the Go!Bridge. Huge difference. No delay arming/disarming or using Z-Wave appliances.

Anyone having delay issues should install one of these!
