CT100 Thermostats - issues

I have 3 CT100 thermostats, only 2 installed at the moment. But my upstairs unit eats through batteries in about 4 days and after reading it seems this can be a problem with some of them. So I went to install 5he other brand new ct100 I have but when I need to click mate on the ct100 I cannot (I tried on the old thermostat and it works perfectly but not on the new one…

Any thoughts? I’ve tried removing it from the system with no luck either.

Are these CT100s using at least a five wire set up utilizing the C terminal to connect 24V AC power from the HVAC output?

24V AC is all but mandatory for the CT100 to function. Battery-only operation will burn through batteries at an accelerated rate.

Does this mean you are able to access the “Mate” icon by pressing “Menu” but are unable to get a response from the CT100 when attempting to press “Mate?” Keep in mind “Mate” must be pressed twice for activation and you should hear beeps as confirmation.
