Do I need to use something special to connect my Qolsys IQ Panel 2+ directly to a power source? We had just plugged it in, but I want to have my electrician connect it directly to power instead. I don’t have the box anymore so I wasn’t sure what is needed.
No, just to be clear you cannot hardwire the panel directly into house lines, that will absolutely fry the panel and likely cause a fire.
Do not use an alternate power supply source. You should always use the 7VDC plug-in power supply included with the panel. You can route 18AWG wiring to a receptacle elsewhere in the home to plug in the panel.
