Coming over from Frontpoint

Hi all - I know this topic has been covered a few times, so I’ll keep my questions fairly specific. I’m 27 months into my 36 month Frontpoint contract.
First question, I don’t suppose anyone has found a way around the early termination fee? I’m currently on their $49.99/mo plan, so 9 months left at 80% = $360. Can I at least switch to their cheapest plan first ($34.99/mo) then terminate and only pay $252?

I’m looking for professional monitoring, 3 cameras (with cloud storage) and home automation. That puts me in the Surety Complete plan, correct?

Based on the buttons on my panel, I think I’ve got a Qolsys v1 that will need to be upgraded, correct?
Is the general consensus that the Qolsys v2+ is the way to go?

Anything else to consider / think-through?

Thank you!

Yes, for security + automation + cameras you want Surety Complete.

If you have a Qolsys V1, it’s 3G so it can’t be used to create a new Alarm.com account. You would have to upgrade to 4G LTE. We highly recommend the Qolsys IQ Panel 2+. So much so that it’s the only panel we sell anymore.

I’m not sure about Frontpoint’s cancellation policies but we do have a lot of recovered Frontpoint customers on the forum. Hopefully one of them will chime in!

First Off Welcome to Surety Home ur gonna get top notch service with surety than Frontpoint could ever give second off it might be possible lower down to that plan and then cancel services idk only thing u have to watch is make sure they don’t extend ur contract

Thanks, folks. I found Surety back when it was SuretyDIY and I was troubleshooting and trying to work my Frontpoint system. I was so impressed with Surety, that I knew I’d be back. Now I’m finally getting close to the end of my contract, so I wanted to start preparing!
Today, I read a Testimonial on the Surety site, and it sounded just like me. Bought Frontpoint and went searching for troubleshooting tips and found the wonderful world of Surety!
