Qolsys IQ only has a carbon monoxide zone type. Should I just add a gas detector in the system as a CO zone since that’s the closest related thing? Or as a fire zone? The sensors are Macurco GD-2B combustible gas detection i.e. detects a natural gas leak.
While not explicitly supported, such a sensor would be indicating a fire hazard specifically, so I would expect Fire zone programming would be best.
If special instruction to relay to emergency responders or rules need to be implemented for clarification of handling a life safety zone, we can help with that in monitoring settings for any accounts using professional monitoring.
If you do not use professional monitoring, be sure to label the zone name in Alarm.com in a way that clearly indicates to notification recipients that it is a combustible gas trigger and not smoke.
