Clarification on Star (*) menu on IQ Keypad PG

Hi there,

I recently installed the new Qolsys IQ Keypad PG with Prox. Tags, and wanted some clarification about the * menu options.

1.) The manual states the star menu options will follow secure arming option whether a code is required or not, but when I press *9, it automatically arms stay without requiring a code. I haven’t tried it with other star options though, so I can’t say about the rest.

2.) Usually my family and I like to arm the system with no entry delay for both away and stay modes. With IQ keypad, does the *9 for arming with no entry delay only automatically apply to the stay mode, or is there a way to use with the away mode as well? Because when I use the *9 mode as mentioned above, it automatically arms stay with no entry delay.

Sorry if I am missing something that might be on the manual, it’s just it’s new to me and can’t find much info in the forum or online.

To have the system require the code, you will need to have Secure Arming enabled. To enable, swipe down from the main screen > Settings > Advanced Settings > Installer Code > Installation > Security and Arming > Enable Secure Arming

Performing *9 twice in a row will arm it to away with no entry delay. The first time arms it to stay no delay and the second time it arms it to away no delay.

Let us know if you have any other questions

Thank you

So I did the *9 twice in a row but it doesn’t arm away, when I do *9 a second time it gives an error beep and the whole keypad flashes. I also tried doing *9 and then away or vice versa button but it gives me an entry delay. So I can’t find a way to arm away with no entry delay using the keypad

Did you do this while doing a pause or did you do perform the *9 twice within a few seconds?

Within a few seconds, it was consecutive. I actually had a finger on each key lol

After talking to Qolsys and testing, we came to a conclusion that arming away with no entry delay is only available on the main panel and through the alarm.com app

They tried a few different things but could not get the Keypad-PG to arm to away with no entry delay.

Yes that’s what I figured at the end of my own testing, thank you for confirming though.

Sorry about that.

If you have any other questions, let us know.
