'circulate' fan selectable under heat/cool modes (but doesnt work)

Ok, so for a long time, fan ‘circulate’ was only selectable with mode ‘off’.

Now it is a selectable fan setting for emer/auto/heat/cool, but it still doesn’t work… so what is the point? It is still broken/non-functional (unless mode selection is ‘off’)

I will look into this issue and contact ADC to see if this is intended to work or if ADC is still working on this functionality.

Spoke to a contact at ADC that stated they are indeed adding this functionality. (Circulate while mode is on) Checking with engineers there whether the feature is actually ready or if any sort of firmware update is still needed prior.

You would think ADC has a lab to test ADC tstat features and functionality prior to release to end users.

Releasing features that are broken, buggy, or are otherwise non-functional just seems… wrong.

Testing occurs, but isolated testing does not 100% translate to zero issues when applied in a wide fashion. I’m expecting a follow up today on this so we should have some insight. Hopefully an ETA when the circulate function will work for all modes.

The circulate feature being available in Heat/Cool wasn’t intended to be an option you can select yet, but it is being actively worked on. It should be a functional option fairly soon but I am told it will require an OTA to the Tstat which in turn will require the latest 2GIG Firmware (1.14.01)

Just a heads up on this…

Apparently ‘circulate’ doesn’t work at all now. Least not for me. I tried it in ‘HEAT’ mode, and ‘OFF’. Nothing.

Is this another tstat feature that ADC is removing? (like the recovery setting)

I do not believe so. I’ll double check with a few contacts at ADC, but my understanding was it was being made to work in all modes.

...my understanding was it was being made to work in all modes.

Perhaps it is just me then, but it works not at all now. (I also recently reset my tstat, and re-added it back to ADC also)

I’ll be doing some testing on one today and try to verify any issues.

Circulate is working for me as normal (works in “Off” only) Just set up this ADC T2000 today.

It works when remotely and manually switching to “Off”

Also works based on hard internal clock times it appears. Duty Cycle 10 minutes, Circulate 50% runs the fan 5 minutes, off 5 minutes and does so at the 0 and 5 on the clock. After kicking it to heat mode for 7 minutes as a test, it was turned off, and now resumes circulate on the 0 and 5 minute marks (2:00, 2:05, 2:10, 2:15)

When did you reset and reconfigure?

When did you reset and reconfigure?

couple weeks ago, about the time you said ADC told you that tsat’s already set up for economy recovery would be locked in that recovery after they removed the settings for it.

Ill test again…nope. still not working when mode is off.

EDIT
I did “resend settings”, and it appears to be working when OFF.

Jason, I am not sure I understand your test. Is it now circulating while in heat mode (when not heating)?

Do you mean that it resumed circulating in heat mode? Or you turned heat mode back off and it resumed?
If the new functionality is not there yet, keep us informed when they add it. Obviously there are at least a few of us that want it.

He said it only works when mode is “off” is my understanding

Correct, it does not yet function in Heat/Cool. ADC is working on adding this.

Thanks
Waiting anxiously .

Won’t actually have to wait much longer.

ADC put it in recent dealer announcements that Cool/Heat mode circulate is available on units with the newest firmware. Only units shipping out now basically.

Unfortunately, that does mean that existing units still need an OTA which is not ready yet, but I am told one will be available fairly soon.

So what is the status on this? functional or still waiting?

I am still waiting.
Do I have to initiate an OTA update?
