I have my system set up to use the IQ Panel 4 as a doorbell. However, when someone pushes the doorbell the notification from the panel is a voice announcing that someone is at my door. I’d like to change this to some sort of chime but can’t find the option to do so. Is it possible?
There is no real option to select a chime for the doorbell to sound on the keypad but I believe disabling the voice annunciation changed the noise to a chime.
You can disable the voice annunciation by:
From the home screen menu, tap Settings.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Enter the installer or master code.
Tap Sound.
Tap to enable Voices and Panel Voices.
You can adjust the volume by:
Swipe down to open the menu on the home screen, then tap Settings.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Enter the installer code.
Tap Sound.
Tap Volume.
Using the specific slider for the sound type (i.e., Beeps and Chimes volume, Media volume, Voices volume, Doorbell volume), adjust the volume.
apologies if I shouldn’t be adding a similar issue to an existing thread.
I just installed my IQ5 and a VDB775. the installation of the 775 went fine. as a note - I don’t have any chimes inside the house (legacy, smart, etc). with my old system if someone rang the doorbell it sounded on the panels.
however, when I ring the doorbell the doorbell itself chimes, but it isn’t making noise on my IQ5 or my IQ Remote PG.
I saw this thread and confirmed that I have voices and panel voices enabled. I also turned the chime volume up to maximum just in case.
apologies if I missed something simple - I’m new and getting the hang of the system.
Looking at your account, panel motion notifications to your alarm panel are not enabled in the doorbell’s settings. This would need to be turned on in order for a notification to be sent to the panel.
To enable it, log into Alarm.com and navigate to Video > Settings > Doorbell > General and turn on Panel Button Press Notifications. This will enable sending those notifications to your panel.
Once you’ve done that, are those notifications showing up on the panel when the doorbell is pressed?
you rock @nicholas ! so I saw those settings - and said to myself - I’m not doing anything regarding button presses on the panel, so I didn’t make that change.
just ticked that box - and I get notifications on my panel and the IQ remote.
