Bypass from ADC app help plus Text notification help

Last night we turned our alarm on from the app. We had the bedroom slider open. When you do it at the panel it asks to bypass open sensors and shows you the bypassed sensors while armed. On the app it just arms and we assumed it bypassed. When we closed the slider the alarm tripped.

Is there a way that you can bypass open sensors when arming from the app?

Also, I did not get a text notification but my other contacts did. My carrier and number are set up correctly. It’s happened a few times. Any ideas of why sometimes,es text notifications are not getting through?

I did disarm panel before the signal got to Dispatch. Could that have something to do it? Just weird that it got to some people and not to others

Open sensors will be force-bypassed until closed, at which time they are armed. If the sensor’s magnetic gap is broken again (sliding door bounces open a bit or is opened/closed again) the alarm will trip.

I see a successfully generated SMS message in the history for the recipient labeled as your phone with regard to the pending alarm. Have you tried setting push notifications instead? These would be independent of carrier SMS.

I got the text this morning, but the time stamp was when the alarm was tripped. Strange

I have a google voice number I can text to. But in the ADC drop down where you select carrier of your text carrier it does not list google. Does it really matter what you select in that drop down? Any suggestions?

It does matter.

For the longest time Google did not have an SMS email gateway to be able to send these. It is still not an option that I am aware.

AT&T and Verizon both now use direct SMS notifications through ADC. Others use SMS gateways. You should select your primary provider I believe.

I would suggest using push notifications instead if you are having trouble and want to use Google, at least for now. I’ll see if there are any updates on Google voice.

By push you mean email right?

The problem is, on my iPhone I have it on silent and have email notification off because I get so many emails a day. Is there a way to make just the ADC emails vibrate while the other e-mails reminder with no notification?

BTW. The problem I had was with AT&t

No, push notifications are App specific notifications directly to your phone.

To turn on push notifications, open the Alarm.com mobile app and select settings, notifications, turn on Push Notifications. (You can customize the Push Notification audible alerts here in the app.)

Your phone will show up as a push device under your user list in Alarm.com, and as a possible recipient for notifications.
