Hey Surety Rockstars!
Curently I am over the alarm system at my work. My dealer and central station both SUCK and my dealer is rude as all get out when it comes to adding sensors in house. I know neither one of these are true about Surety and Becklar from using surety at my home. I am potentially looking at switching to Surety for Business at work but have a question. Currently my work uses a bosch panel that we have full programming capability to. Can Surety business monitor this with either direct IP reporting to Becklar, or a SEM? Or would I have to do a whole rip and replace to IQPro with expansion boards?
All of our plans utilize Alarm.com, we do not currently support monitoring via other means. I am happy to bring up suggestions internally and look into options for you though.
To best help, what is the model number of the Bosch panel?
It is a Bosch B6512. Didnt know if a SEM would work like it does for Honeywell systems on Alarm.com
There is no SEM for Bosch systems like there is for Vista and Powerseries.
Alarm.com has a universal communicator which can be used with panels that use DTMF pots signaling. It looks like the Bosch B6512 doesn’t have that built in, it may need an add-on module Bosch B10 PSTN based on some searches.
It is a bit of an involved installation, and there are very limited benefits compared to a SEM, with little support in terms of system control.
For a full integration with the expected capabilities you are familiar with on your home system, I would recommend the IQ Pro replacement if you do opt to switch.
I would recommend replacing the Bosch system with a lot more advanced system like IQ pro
Hey Jason Thanks for that. Would the Universal Communicator allow basic arming and disarming from the alarm.com app and simple arm/disarm/alarm push notifications?
I would but this system is only 3 years old and all hardwired so trying to save money as we are a non-profit with limited budget.
The panel model you mentioned is not officially tested, but in general the ADC Universal Communicator supports basic remote arming/disarming through a keyswitch zone on the wired panel. It looks like the Bosch panel you mentioned supports keyswitch arming.
Universal Communicators can be programmed to send notifications for some events, such as alarms, arming, power failures etc.
Do you guys sell the universal communicator and would you be willing to monitor one with a business plan?
We do not currently sell the universal communicator and I don’t believe that is likely to be stocked, but if you decide to use the LX30B universal communicator we could get you set up with the Business Alarm plan.
With the universal communicator, would avantgaurd (or becklar whichever their name is now lol) still be able to see zone descriptions in an alarm?
Yes, operators can still see zone descriptions when events occur.
