Anyone tried using Brilliant smart controls with a Quolsys panel or Alarm.com? The Brilliant wall panels looks pretty cool but it isn’t clear to me whether they would work with a Quolsys/Alarm.com system.
No, that is not compatible.
Brilliant appears to essentially be a competitor to Alarm.com in terms of automation, the basic value suggestion is the same, organize and control a variety of automation devices in one app.
Bummer. Oh well. Thanks for the reaponse!
Doing a bit more digging on this. If I get something like the Thinka Z-Wave to HomeKit hub, could I use that as the controller to integrate the IQ Panel with HomeKit and then connect to Brilliant via HomeKit?
Searching these forums it looks like Quolsys might have removed secondary z-wave controller functionality from the IQ Panel but I am not sure if this is true or really what this means (have only ever used the IQ Panel as my controller and never tried to use different hubs, controllers, or interfaces before).
No. Brilliant is not compatible.
Adding a secondary Z-wave controller, even if supported, only creates parallel control of compatible Z-wave devices on the two controllers, it doesn’t give control over the alarm panel or any of its functions, nor is alarm sensor data shared via Z-wave.
