Is it possible to “associate” switches on a Qolsys panel?
I have 2 lights on the back of my house that are controlled by 2 independent switches.
The goal is to be able to turn on one switch and have both lights come on
The Qolsys panel itself does not have an associate feature like this, no. A Minimote is typically used for device association to link transmitter switches to load-bearing switches to create a virtual 3-way circuit.
We’ve requested this type of rule be added as an option in Alarm.com, but due to the workarounds that must be implemented due to a Lutron patent, panels must poll devices to learn their status, a light switch cannot transmit the change in real time, making a remote rule difficult to implement in an effective way.
