Armed Away Sounds

We’re noticing that when we enter the house when the system is set to Away, from the same door, that we notice that sometimes we’ll get the “beep-beep” sound and sometimes we get what sounds like a preliminary alarm. Each time we use the “Away” button on our keypads in the house. Any idea on how to prevent this preliminary alarm from sounding when we enter through the back door?

When you say preliminary alarm, do you mean that the same siren sound occurs as when an alarm is tripped?

When arming either at the panel or remotely, you have the option of selecting no entry delay. If you select no entry delay, the alarm will go off immediately on entry exit doors instead of start the delay.

Likewise, if an alarm occurs while the system is armed and no one is at the location, the siren will timeout after a period of time determined by Q36 in programming on 2GIG. If another sensor is then opened while the system is in alarm, the siren will immediately kick in.

Do you show alarm history on the panel for these events? When is the last time this occurred?

Might want to also verify the programming for the back door.
