Any news on the Water Dragon?

I saw one on the sketchy “Zion Security” but no where else.

It is not released yet, but we do expect it available in the next few months.

What’s the deal with this? Did it ever get released, anyone using it to date? I can’t really find much information on this product and am wondering if it works well. Introducing Water Dragon | Alarm.com

I am not showing it as available through distributors. I’ve reached out internally to see what I can find out about it and will follow up here once I have heard back.

I was able to find it online and place an order. I’m going to give it a try and will report back on how well it works. I also added Advanced Water to my system, and I can now see that it’s available to be added and configured.

I recently got my hands on the Alarm.com Water Dragon and wanted to share my initial experience.

I have it installed and running, and so far it’s working great. Installation was very straightforward and took less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

It’s reporting water usage correctly in the Alarm.com mobile app, including total gallons used and current usage. Of course, only time will tell how reliable it is over the long term, but my first impression is very positive.

One thing I did notice is that while the water usage displays correctly in the mobile app, it isn’t showing up properly in the web interface. I’m curious if anyone else has noticed the same issue. I did ask Surety to open a ticket to Alarm.com reporting this.

I’ve attached a few photos of my installation so others can see what it looks like.

I also found it interesting that the Water Dragon doesn’t seem to be available through many Alarm.com resellers. I was only able to find one online retailer that had it in stock. I honestly expected my order to get canceled since it seemed so hard to find, but it actually shipped directly from Alarm.com.

This is good news. Where did you get it? I’ve been interested in this for a long time.

From what I can see, the Water Dragon was never officially released by Alarm.com. As such, there could be problems that arise that cannot be resolved through troubleshooting.

Wow, that’s interesting. I’m honestly surprised I was even able to get one and that Alarm.com shipped it to me. Either way, it’s working great so far, and it’s definitely an added piece of peace of mind.

I’ve been told that it was in limited release and that some vendors had access to it but to get it directly from ADC is odd.
