Another repeater Question

I purchased the 2 gig repeater per your suggestion.

I believe you can program multiple zones. Why would do that.

Should low battery be one zone, tamer one zone etc?

Or is it specific areas? I am not clear on why you would do this

I believe you can program multiple zones. Why would do that.

You would not program the repeater as multiple zones. The repeater does not need to be programmed in at all to function, it is plug and play with regard to repeating the sensor zone signals.

The repeater can be programmed in once as a zone in order to supervise it for tampers, low battery, and power loss alerts for the repeater itself.

If I were to program this into a GC2, do I set it as a “contact”?

Also, if I ever have to replace the battery, what do I order? The battery is flat on the + side and does not have the raised nub like regular AA batteries.

Are you referring to the 2GIG brand 2GIG-RPTR1-345?

Optional programming for Tamper, AC Loss, Low Battery would be:

  • Sensor Type (23) No Response Type
  • Equipment code (1067) 2GIG Repeater
  • Contact
  • Loop 1

Also, if I ever have to replace the battery, what do I order?

It includes a 3.7V 800mAh rechargable battery that is not meant to be replaced.

at some point this battery will be unchargeable. Just like in the panel you have to replace every few years. Does this mean I will have to get a new repeater when this battery can no longer hold a charge? Or do I just buy a AA standard rechargeable battery? NIcad, Li-ion? MnHI? What about the nub that is missing on the OEM battery?

According to the 2GIG documentation, the 2GIG-RPTR1-345 has a 3.7V 800mAh 14500 type Li-ion battery (not to be replaced). So if the battery ceases to hold a charge, it looks like you would need to replace the repeater.

thanks Tyler - do you know what kind of battery the Allura (resolution Products uses)? Is it proprietary or replaceable?

Seems odd that we all know that batteries die, yet companies would make a device where you cant replace the battery after it can not hold charge anymore?

The Alula Resolution Products RE524X?

It uses a 6VDC 800mAh NiMH rechargeable battery pack, part number RE030. We don’t carry the battery but currently it is available from other vendors online.
