Is there a way to change the amount of time it takes for the system to countdown before it arms when you set it in STAY mode (meaning you are arming the alarm when staying inside the house)? What if Freddie Kruger was chasing you and you ran inside your house and set the alarm, would Freddie cooperate and wait 40 secs until your system countdown from 40 secs to then arm and protect you?.. Seems logical to have option of an ‘instant’ alarm setting when alarming in the ‘STAY’ mode.

Exit Delay can be adjusted on Q5 in system configuration on the 2GIG panel. However, there is a minimum of 45 seconds and this is across both Away and Stay arming.
Unfortunately you cannot set a separate exit delay for Stay.

Arming from the panel always includes an Exit Delay countdown. This is a security industry standard. Arming in Stay mode does not mean that no one is leaving, necessarily, it means that interior zones are not armed. Typically this means someone is staying; pets, family members, etc., though you might still be arming and leaving yourself.
Arming remotely from the ADC App will result in no delay.

To most efficiently activate an alarm in that scenario, you should activate a Panic alarm rather than initiate the arming sequence by pressing the Emergency button and holding the Panic button for 2 seconds. If Freddy is already in the house, arming Stay would not activate motion detectors and he would not need to trip a perimeter sensor to get you.
However, keep in mind if Freddy Krueger is chasing you, you are currently dreaming so regardless of what you press at the panel it will likely just burst into spiders.
…so the answer is, there is no way to do an instant arming in the STAY mode from the panel if ever needed. Other alarm panels that Im familiar with has both instant and delay arming options for the STAY mode. Is that something that might get designed-in in the future?
Thanks!
“Instant” options like on the Vista refer to No Entry Delay being applicable to the arming period. This does not mean it instantly arms in Stay. There is still an Exit Delay when you arm.
This mode makes it so that Entry/Exit sensors act like perimeter sensors if opened while the system remains armed.
This is indeed available with 2GIG by unchecking the Entry Delay check-box when you arm.
SIA standards require an Exit Time unless arming from a remote source.
…I dont get the run around on this as if you dont want to say there is no way to do an instant arming in STAY mode from the panel in respect to NO COUNTDOWN option. Not talking about any delay periods when entering, I talking about NO WAIT PERIOD for system to arm in STAY mode. I have an Interface Security system in another building and it has an instant ARMING in Stay mode and also a delay option to arm the system in STAY mode. Is this something that might be considered in future options…yes or no? Thanks!
Apologies for any confusion. I intend no run-around. I understand what you are referring to, but no, it will likely not be available on the 2GIG Panel at any time in the future unless SIA standards are revised with regard to Exit Time. 2GIG follows SIA standards. They allow you to disable certain features and inform in the installation manual which will affect compliance.
SIA false alarm reduction standards do not allow Exit Delay time to be removed. I believe to be compliant with SIA standards, Exit Time can only be removed when arming from the remote service platform, in this case Alarm.com.
I don’t think you will see the standards change, at least to lessen the delay time requirement.
it has an instant ARMING in Stay mode and also a delay option to arm the system in STAY mode.
Some panels do allow this. I know the Qolsys Panel has an option to Arm Stay without the countdown. I do not anticipate 2GIG adding this. I know we have inquired of this previously with 2GIG, and to my recollection the answer was very unlikely.
