Alarm Siren volume on 2GIG Panel

We live in a 3 story row home and are concerned the alarm would be inaudible from the third floor - wiukd we need to get a separate panel for that?

Also, coukd you explain what the sensor Activity monitoring is on the Gold interactive plan?

Have you tried arming your panel and intentionally tripping your alarm to test the volume throughout the house?

If you are using 24/7 Central Station monitoring you will want to place your account on test mode before doing this.

Should you need to place your account on test mode, you can email customerservice@suretyDIY.com. In your email, please include when you would like to be place on test and for how long (up to 72 hours) as well as your Verbal Admin Password, for account verification purposes.

If you find that the volume of the alarm is not loud enough to reach throughout the home, you have a couple of options. First would be to add an external siren to your system. This device would trigger when your alarm panel triggers an alarm, giving you two sirens in the home. This post goes over a few external sirens.

You could also obtain a 2GIG TS1 secondary touchscreen panel (as well as the required 900MHz transceiver) for the home. Not only would this also sound an alarm when the main panel does but you can also arm/disarm your system from the TS1 as well as see and hear other status and chimes.

Activity monitoring gives you the ability to check the status of sensors regardless of alarm status. For example, you can check to see that a door or window is open or closed, even when the alarm is off. Activity monitoring does not apply to all sensors, for example a smoke detector is either activated or not activated, regardless of the alarm status, so there is no need to view its current status. You can read more about Activity Monitoring here.
