Alarm.com Wi-Fi Skybell HD Edition Doorbell

I apologize. I have had this for a couple of weeks now, but have been so busy that I was not able to setup until this past weekend. I bought the bronze color one versus the stainless color as it matches better to the exterior of my house

I called Livewatch to have video added to my package. The rep knew about the doorbell, but was not sure they could add it. He put me on hold, came back, and said they could enable the doorbell feature, but could not offer any support since it was a brand new product and they had no training with it. So Livewatch called alarm.com and we had a three-way call. The alarm.com rep told me most of information on the card that came with it. It has an address on it with informational videos. One important piece of information that was not on the card was the charge time. He said it will take about 45 minutes to charge and to NOT try setting it up before it was fully charged as it would cause issues.

Install was easy since it lined up with my existing square doorbell so I did not have to drill any holes. Per the alarm.com rep it was about 45 minutes later and was lit up as ready. Note: It does not come with a tiny level, drill bit,… like Ring.com. It does come with the screws and anchors though.

I followed the directions which said to setup through the alarm.com app. The process was very simple. During my install a notice came up that I had a very poor wireless signal, but was able to install anyways. The video is a little choppy when testing so I ordered a wireless extender which should be here tomorrow to help boost my signal.

Two way communication has worked great and since I have a zwave door lock I can unlock the door as well.

Where did you purchase it?

Also want to know where this was purchased.

As a new product we do not yet have it for sale on our website, but info on where to find it now can be found in this post.

Here is where I bought mine:

So my ADC Skybell HD doorbell arrived today and I recently added cloud video to my account, because I read on the forums that it’s required for the doorbell to function but I’m confused about pricing. Which one is correct?
I see listed on your site that if I was to add the cloud video (level 1) unto my Gold Interactive service of $19.95 it would cost me an additional $5.00 per month.
In singing up for the cloud video it’s telling me that there’s a one time activation fee of $19.95 and then a monthly fee of $10.95. now which one is correct?
Moving forward will be charged a monthly fee of $24.95 or $29.95 for the Gold interactive plus (level 1) cloud Video?

Looks like our customer service team sent an email follow up regarding this earlier when the order was placed.

Alarm.com Cloud video can be purchased on its own as a separate service plan, or the base level can be added to existing service accounts for $5.00/month currently. As an add-on, you’ll need to contact customerservice@suretyDIY.com and they’ll be happy to add it to your service plan.

Please check the customer service email for instructions.

The firmware version I have from the alarm.com boxed Skybell HD edition is:

1072

I’m curious for anyone who bought the non boxed alarm.com skybell HD what their firmware version is.

Here are some additional screen shots of inside packaging, settings page from app, device info page from alarm.com website.

I have some questions about this product but first want to ask how you like it?

How is it powered? I read somewhere that ur uses existing wires for doorbell and batteries for everything else like video and IR. If this is correct what is battery life?

I also read on skybell website that you had to run power wires to it.

Anyone know which is true? Here’s a pic of the wiring to my existing doorbell if it matters.

The Alarm.com Skybell HD is connected to existing wiring for power. There are no batteries utilized in this unit.

Keep in mind that in order to use the Alarm.com Skybell HD you will need ADC Cloud Video and a free camera slot.

Also worth mentioning, in order to use the Skybell HD through Alarm.com, the unit needs to be the Alarm.com branded Skybell HD as it has proprietary firmware for use with the Alarm.com back-end.

Here is a good forum thread that discusses more about the Alarm.com Skybell HD
