Alarm.com Thermostat Power Failure

My Alarm.com thermostat sent out a power failure alert last night. I am still receiving temperature updates, so it looks like it is still working. What does this alert actually mean since the power is hard wired and the main panel did not show a power failure for the house? Also will it send a power restored alert? Thank you

Happy to help! History reports that this was a power failure. Alarm.com checks for power about once a day, so you should see a restoral in activity history automatically within that time period.

Was there any indication of a power outage in your home at the time?

Are you able to send remote commands to the thermostat successfully?

How long has the unit been wired up and working?

Interesting…no there was no indication of a power outage. I have been able to refresh the data on the thermostat and it appears to be working. This thermostat has been online for a couple of years with no issues.

This was limited to just the TSTAT, there were no other reports of failure from any other devices (like the alarm panel.) This could have been a brief fluctuation where only the TSTAT was effected but its tough to pinpoint.

You will want to keep an eye on it, make sure that it functions as it should and look for that restoral notification within 24 hours.

Ya that’s why I was confused, because neither the panel or any other device had an issue…I will look for the restoral notification. Hopefully it was just a one time glitch…thanks
