Alarm.com Skybell HD - Questions about some features

Got a question here for the Skybell users on alarm.com. I been using video doorbell from the Doorbot, Skybell, and currently Ring. I’m looking to go back to Skybell for the more integrated approach at alarm.com.

One of the things that I been able to do is disarm my system when multi-tasking to the app. For example, here is the workflow.

  • Someone drops by my house to pick up something in the house while I’m away
  • Person rings doorbell
  • I answer and tell them to hold on while I disarm.
  • I multitask the system and go into alarm.com to hit disarm
  • Go back to the dorbell app and see them enter and leave
  • Arm the system after I say goodbye

Since alarm.com currently does not support disarming (only unlocking,) I’m kind of concerned that my workflow won’t work. I’m saying that because if Skybell is integrated with the alarm.com app, wouldn’t I have to hang up the video so that I can hit disarm in the app? I’m curious if one of the Surety folks can answer or current users of the video doorbell.

Also, I recall Skybell had an option set to where you could silence the doorbell. Can that option be done in the alarm.com app or website?

Yep, you’re absolutely correct. Currently, you can only unlock from within the call, however the video opens from within the app. You can end the call, which brings up the App home page, disarm, and then you can just tap on the doorbell video to bring it up again from within the ADC app (with the same two way communication as if someone pressed the button.

We have requested the disarm option be placed within the call screen, but for your purposes the flow is no different.

Yes, you can adjust the chime volume or turn it off completely when logged into Alarm.com.
