Alarm.com now supports the increasingly popular brand of ecobee Wi-Fi enabled thermostats. The SmartThermostat, ecobee4, and ecobee3 lite are ideal for home builders and homeowners already using ecobee products. Now, homeowners can control their ecobee thermostats alongside other automation and security devices from the Alarm.com Mobile App and Website. In addition, you can get Severe Heating and Cooling Alerts.
Do they work with the iq2+?
They would not connect to the Qolsys panel (or any Alarm.com panel) as they connect to Alarm.com directly through Wi-FI.
You would need one of the 3 compatible TSTATS and home automation control through Alarm.com (Surety Automate, Surety Home, Surety Complete service plans)
The following features are available for ecobee thermostats on the Alarm.com Website and app:
- Remote control – change temperature setpoints, heating and cooling mode, and fan modes
- Ability to view current temperature and humidity levels
- Automation as part of Alarm.com Scenes
- HVAC analytics – Severe heating and cooling alerts
does connecting to ADC provide any benefit over using the ecobee app, aside from participation in ADC scenes?
The listed features above are available through the Alarm.com integration. Any other features available through the ecobee app directly would not be available in ADC at this time.
