ADT Safewatch -> Surety: ADC SEM300 communication issues

I have an ADT Safewatch Pro 3000 with wired and wireless sensors and I’m adding an Alarm.com SEM300 to it. I’ve followed the steps here and have successfully connected the SEM to the panel and powered it up.

But upon power up, the panel doesn’t perform a zone scan; it just behaves as if the SEM doesn’t exist.

I’ve cycled power and attempted a communication test as instructed on the Surety System Manager page but nothing changes. I noticed the following troubleshooting tip in the SEM installation guide. Any suggestions? Appreciate the help!

Could you tell me the pattern of how the trouble light flashed on the SEM300?

Do you know if your keypad address 23 is enables? None of the dip switches on the SEM were changed, correct?

You can check this by pressing [Installer code] + 800 + #196

If it displayed 0 then 0 then it is off. This needs to be on. You can enable it by once being in programming, entering *196 + 10

Then you can exit programming by entering *99

The trouble light on the SEM300 doesn’t flash at all. All the lights are dark except for the power one which is steady blue.

I confirmed keypad address 23 is enabled and did not adjust any dip switches on the SEM.

This may not be relevant but I’ve noticed the SEM’s MAC address does not show up on my router even though it’s connected via an ethernet cable

So that we can best assist can you provide a clear photo of the wiring at the SEM and at the Vista panel?

Can you confirm the version info on the prom label as well? A photo of the panel board should show us what we need.

Hi, the PROM version is 9.12 from 2010. I’m attaching photos of the SEM and panel.

I used the black, green, and white wires from a 22/4 cable from the SEM connectors to connect to terminals 4, 6, and 7 on the panel respectively. The red wire was left unconnected.

The red power wire included with the SEM connects from the SEM screwpost to the battery in the panel box. The panel’s existing battery connection is piggybacked on top at the battery terminal.

Hello,

Could you provide a list of devices on the panel? Keypads with the model numbers, zone expander and any other devices.

Do you have a multimeter to check voltage on the panel? Could you check the first two terminals on the panel checking for AC power? Could you check the power on the SEM300 by checking for DC power on the black and red wires?

Thank you,
Surety
