Additional Legacy Daughter Cards on IQ Panel 4

I purchased the IQ panel 4 with the 345 to work with my 2GIG sensors I already have. As I add new sensors I was wondering am I stuck buying 2GIG or can I add a 319.5 daughter card in order to start using IQ sensors?

Daughter cards are not interchangeable on the IQ Panel 4. You can use 345MHz legacy (not the eSeries from 2GIG) and PowerG

Thanks Tyler. So if reading this correctly once I purchased the IQ Panel 4 (345) I am stuck with 2GIG sensors? I can’t add a 2nd 319.5 daughter card? I would have to replace the entire panel. I am changing from the 2GIG GC3 panel. I had thought as my sensors get old just slowly replacing with IQ sensors but it sounds like that isn’t an option?

Correct, you would need a new panel, daughter cards arent sold separately. PowerG sensors could be used and are encrypted.

Thank you Tyler. Power G it is.

The below guide covers model numbers of sensors that have been tested compatible by Qolsys with the IQ Panel 4. If you have the IQP4003 (Verizon) or IQP4006 (AT&T) your panel works with the sensors listed in the 345mhz and PowerG sections

As mentioned by Tyler PowerG sensors are your best bet. Not to try and confuse anyone but if you can manage to find a 319.5 daughter card you could potentially replace your 345 with it, but you can’t have both. I personally have only converted 345s to 433’s but I’m assuming 319.5 would work as well.

Tyler is the old IQIS daughter card for the old image sensors compatible with the IQ panel 4?

No it is not. The nearest compatible device would be the PowerG PG9934P camera detector but it does not offer all of the features the older Image Sensors did.

We are in the process of installing a new system. We have an IQ panel 4 with the 345, however it turned out that most of the sensors are encrypted S-Line sensor, backward compatibility for legacy 319.5 systems. We also have a 319.5 daughter card on hand, can we switch or add this in the panel or does the statement from Tyler from Mar 2023 still stand that these daughter cards can’t be changed?

As a test, I deleted all 319.5MHz sensors from programming on a IQP4001, powered it off fully, then removed the 319.5 card and swapped it for a 345MHz card and it worked.

But I cannot recommend it. I have not seen any information from Qolsys that suggests this is officially supported. It may void warranty or cause other issues.
