ADC-VDB750 Stuck in reboot

Looking for some troubleshooting advice on an Alarm.com ADC-VDB750 doorbell camera.

We recently had a storm and what appears to have been a nearby lightning strike or electrical surge. The event tripped a GFCI breaker in the house and caused a few other electrical issues. The breaker has since been replaced and power has been restored.

Since then, the doorbell camera won’t come online. The LED sequence is:

  • Blinking red

  • Solid red

  • Blinking green

  • Solid green

  • LED turns off

  • Repeats the entire cycle indefinitely

Additional observations:

  • The doorbell is receiving power from the doorbell wiring because it powers up and starts the boot sequence when connected.

  • When I connect it to the mounting plate, the indoor chime rings once as if the doorbell is sending a signal.

  • The unit does not stay online long enough to appear functional.

  • The device appears to be stuck in a continuous reboot loop.

  • I have not yet measured voltage at the doorbell wires with a multimeter.

Checking transformer voltage would be a good idea to confirm this was not damaged.

When connected to the back plate for power, can you reboot the unit by holding down the button down for 40-45 seconds until the LED Flashes yellow?

If not, or if you can but it returns to the loop mentioned, remove the doorbell from power and connect it to USB for power via the port on the back. This will help rule out the transformer and wiring for power issues. Does the unit present the same issue when powered up this way? If not, can you perform the reboot when connected to USB for power?
