ADC-V730: Video Analytics fires Automation/Notifications on Animal when only Person/Vehicle selected

I have a single Video Analytics rule on an ADC-V730 (“Pool Rule,” All Times). Record a Clip is set to Person, Animal and Vehicle. Light Automation (Lutron, after sunset only) and Notifications are both set to Person and Vehicle only. Perimeter Guard is off.

On Oct 1, 2026 at 11:03 PM, an “animal” was detected in the frame (detection was caused by spider web, but same error occurs when not false positive). The clip is tagged Animal only, with no person or vehicle detection. The lights still turned on, and I received a push notification identifying an animal.

There are no other recording rules on this camera, and no account-level notifications or automations covering it. It looks like the rule is applying the Record a Clip object types to every action instead of each action’s own selection.

Is this a known issue with Video Analytics 2.0 on the V730? Screenshots of the rule and the video notification included.

Did the original notification identify the detection as an animal? We have noticed instances where Video Analytics 2.0 cameras identify activity as a person, but then correct the misidentified clip after it has been processed.

Has this issue occurred any more since then?

Looks like animal from start to finish, including the email message. Yes, it’s repeatable. I’ve turned off recording animals, but happy to restore if it helps troubleshoot.

Yes, if you don’t mind getting some more recent examples and letting us know when those occurred, that’d be great. That camera looks like it’s on the latest firmware version, but it’s possible there was an update between the last one and now, so we’ll want to double-check.
