I recently installed an ADC-V729. In the settings for High Definition Live View Settings (Live Video Settings) I’d like to enable 4MP recording. But the section is greyed out and it is set to Full High Definition. The tool tip (?) says that “A recording rule is limiting selection”. However I only have 2 rules, first is when an alarm is triggered, the second is when an object is detected. Neither of them have settings for resolution. I even deleted both rules, so that I had none, and I still couldn’t set it to 4MP. So I’m confused as to what could be limiting the resolution. Any help would be appreciated.
There is a third recording rule, which is automatically created for onboard recording to the SD card. The maximum resolution for live view is tied to the resolution set for the onboard recording rule.
When viewing the recording rules page, select Local Recordings at the top, and edit the onboard recording schedule. You can move the recording quality slider to the right to increase the recording quality. Once you do that, you should be able to return to the live view settings and raise it to the full 4MP resolution.
