ADC-V522IR

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any experience with the Alarm.com ADC-V522IR Indoor Camera? I just bought a new one and have been trying to set it up via the instructions but no matter what I do it’s always in a state of “flashing red”. According to the manual “flashing red” means booting but it has been doing that for hours and every time I unplug it and start again it does the same thing. I even tried to do a hard reset by holding the WPS button for over 15 seconds but still “flashing red”. Tried ethernet (no go), tried WPS (no go). Wondering if I got a dud.

It will take a short while to boot up first. I assume you’ve left it alone long enough, but you mention unplugging and other troubleshooting. How long did you allow it to try to boot up without unplugging?

If it is failing to complete the boot sequence then it is likely a bad cam.

Hi Jason, thanks for the quick response.

I’m not sure if this is the same sequence for everyone else with this camera but this is what happens right after I plug it in.

Goes to “solid red” for a few seconds (maybe 5-10).
Goes to “flashing red” right after “solid red” and stays that way.

It did this every single time. I then let the camera stay in “flashing red” boot mode for a couple hours and then over night just to see what would happen and it never seemed to get out of boot mode. I kept trying different things (holding WPS button for a few seconds, a minute etc…) and I finally got it to work. What I had to do was unplug the camera and then the second after I plugged the camera back and it was still in “solid red” in I would hit the WPS button and hold it for the 15 seconds and that seemed to do the trick. Works great now.

Thank you for following up! That is great news, and smart to try the reset at a different stage of the boot up process since the camera gave a different indicator.

We’ll keep this in mind for future users.
