I have the ADC-T2000 thermostat connected to a trane powered humidifier. For some reason I can’t get the humidifier to power on (I know the humidifier and solenoid work because I can get it 24v from another source and it fires right up).
Below are my settings. I have it set to min humidity 40% and my tstat shows it’s 37%. When the furnace is running, I never get the 24v to the humidifier (been testing with a multimeter when the furnace is on). Is the 37 actual to 40 setting too close? Is there a way on the t-stat to force it to tun on the humidifier regardless of the current humidity?
I have followed this guide: Smart Humidity Control Set Up Guide - How To - Surety Support Forum and have the z-wire hooked up properly and the other one to the common on my furnace board. I’m also 95% sure my T2000 is on firmware 1.5+ but will confirm when I get home.
40% is the highest it will let me set it. I assume that setting means I’m trying to get to 40%RH in my home. Currently, it’s shows 38% so would assume it would call for moisture when the furnace is on. I’m wondering if the setpoint and actual temp have a built-in swing of some percentage that is preventing it from signaling the humidifier. Thanks for checking with alarm.com
Good news. The humidifier fired up this morning. Our RH was 33%. There must be swing on the humidity set point. Can you tell me what the swing is and is there any way to change it? I’d also love to increase the % over 40% (my ecobee let me do it). It gets very dry in the winter and would like to be able increase it. Lastly, if the humidity drops below the set point (and swing) but the temperature is at the set point will the tstat call for heat to increase the humidity or does it only call based on the current heat temp? Does the other ADV t-stat give more options when controlling humidity?
It looks like the T2000 thermostat can only activate the humidifier when the heat is running. If the heat is reached, it will not go above your heat set point to achieve the set humidity.
The newer ADC T-40K thermostat dos do offer more features and do offer more control when it comes to the humidifier.
