I have the ADC Smart valve installed and it seems to be measuring water flow properly. After three weeks of installation and regular water use, it has alarmed every morning at 7:59AM and closes. It is reporting “unusual water use” as the message. Immediately prior to this happening the valve is reporting “Normal water use” in the app.
I understand that the valve “strokes” every day to keep it from getting stuck from being open all the time. It seems like when it goes into that process it reads the water use for the day and thinks its all recent and goes into alarm.
It looks like you may use a different service provider, is that correct? Typically I would look into the event history and check flow rates and settings.
In this case the first thing I would do is reach out to your provider to verify what actually triggered the unexpected flow, if it was the High, medium, or low flow rules.
If what you are suggesting is the culprit, I think I would expect that to be a high flow event? You might just need your provider to adjust your high flow settings to avoid that.
If it is medium or low flow rules triggering that, that would suggest a more sustained flow.
