ADC app requesting motion & fitness permissions?

Hi all,
Just updated to latest ADC app on iOS and got a permissions request for access to “motion & fitness” for the first time.

Can’t find any documentation of what this is used for - any ideas?

Interesting. Alarm.com indicates that is related to an update to Geo-Services (now called Places).

It looks like the app can access the phones internal gyroscope to better determine how how fast the phone is moving. This should, in theory, allow for better use of the Fences for the Places feature.

If I get any additional information on the topic I will follow up here.

Thanks as always for the quick response and clarification.

This is consistent with how other apps (eg Waze) use this permission - but the pop up requesting permission from the ADC app looked like a generic “access step counts” which didn’t make much sense!
