4G module connection: what is tiny blue wire for? Where is "HW on DB"

Tiny blue wire, stripped at both ends, 4 inches long.

P/N: ADC-98-00400-000

Says “connect to HW2 in” on Simon XT. Ok.
other says
“connect to HW on DB”?? What/where is HW on DB?

I don’t use any zwave equipment. Just basic SImon XT with alarm sensors only.

Do i need to connect this?

Thank You.

Are you trying to install a new communicator

I’m not 100% certain on what you are referring to. Not finding that ADC part number specifically. There is no reference to HW terminals or DB in the 4G module manual.

So I can best assist, can you post a photo of the module and wire, and where you are seeing the instruction you are referencing?

Yes, I just installed a new 4G module. It came with a little blue wire.
It says to connect to “HW” on “DB”. What is DB?
Here are pics.

Aha, I see. That is a wire specifically bundled with cell modules version 187 and up because they support Alarm.com Image Sensors.

If you have an image sensor that wire needs to be installed between HW on the module (DB means DaughterBoard) and HW2 in on the panel. It allows the module to report as a sensor essentially.

If you do not use an Alarm.com image sensor the wire is not required.

Got it. Thanks for the clarification Jason! I should have posted pics in the first place.
