2GIG Takeover zones all show "open"

I have a new 2GIG GC3 system that includes a TAKE-345 Super Switch as part of the takeover kit. The takeover is converting 8 hardwired zones in the house into wireless zones on my system. All the programing appears to be correct as I see all of them in my sensors list with the correct name, serial numbers and configurations. The devices (motion and glass break sensors) also appear to be working correctly as the built in LED notification lights are working as expected. What is not working is that all zones are showing as “open” and have to be bypassed when I arm my system.

This is how I have the devices wired:

12v+ to the positive dc power supply
12v- to the negative dc power supply
NC to the terminals on the switch wired 1 to 8 for each zone

Any trouble shooting direction is appreciated. I can upload photos if that’s helpful. Thank you.

A little more info is needed as there are a few reasons that might occur. Please post a photo of the TAKE and the old panel or power supply board.

A couple things that are likely causes:

  1. Where are the other ends of your detection circuits connected? In some way the detection circuits must all be connected between the Zone terminals and GND. Typically this is done by powering the TAKE off of the old panel aux and leaving one of each zone’s wires connected to their GND or common terminals (all the GNDs are connected internally)

  2. Check the loop number. All TAKE-345 Zones must be loop 1.

See the following video for a guide to installing a TAKE-345.

So my system is a bit unusual. It’s a brand new all 2GIG system, no old panel. I have a few sensors (glass break and motion) that are in an area that’s very difficult to access so I installed the TAKE to provide direct power instead of battery. In the image below I have tried to ID all the wires. Please note: the Take unit is getting +12v and ground (white wire) from the power supply. All of the zone devices that require power are also tied into that power supply.

All of the zone devices are working as expected. But, all showing “open” on the panel.

Image attached.

All of the zone devices are working as expected. But, all showing “open” on the panel.

So all zones are showing open at all times and won’t close, and they have never worked at all?

What loop number is programmed for all the zones? double check that.

Also, why is Blue unused? If you have motion detectors and Glass break detectors they would be powered devices, requiring DC power from 12V/G. The GND wire for these sensors would generally not share the circuit GND. The detection circuit and power circuit would both be two wires.

Open the motion detector or Glass break and check the wiring. I am curious if your blue are the circuit low/GND.

Correct, all zones are showing open on the panel and have to be bypassed to arm. New system, take installed last week. No they have never worked.

All on loop 1.

Here is a photo from inside a motion sensor. Red = +12v, Black = Gnd, Yellow = NC, Blue = C.

I’m thinking I just have them wired incorrectly. Thanks for you advice!

Yes, Blue would be your detection circuit GND (Common) wire. Those would need to tie into GND on your power supply (ultimately connect to G on the TAKE)

This is a diagram of how it is currently wired.

Is this what you are describing for the correct blue wiring?

Is this what you are describing for the correct blue wiring?

Yes. All GNDs would connect. The sensor detection circuit common wires must connect to G on the TAKE. Refer to the TAKE installation manual here. Page two shows the correct wiring for this type of installation at the bottom.

Thank you! That resolved the issue with all my powered sensors! Thank you!
