I have a GC3 with two SP1 units, all 3 devices are attached to my Wi-Fi LAN, after updating firmware to 3.2.0.6581 I have been getting the “Broadcasting find request (wlan0)…OnBroadcastTimer” on the attached screen.
Prior to the firmware update the system SP1 wireless connection to my LAN was very stable. Now several times a day each unit will cycle through this “BroadcastTimer” loop until it finds and reconnects to my LAN. These cycles may take a minute up to an hour and while it is trying to reconnect to the LAN the respective SP1 is offline and cannot function.
My Router and LAN for the house has not changed and I have not moved the location of the SP1, GC3 or the my router. So the only change to my system has been the firmware update. I have rebooted my router (Netgear Nighthawk X10 R8900) and reconnected the SP1’s but they still continue to cycle on a intermittent basis.
No, I’ve not seen that issue previously. We will forward this for 2GIG to look into and see if they have any knowledge of it yet.
One thing you might try quick is connecting the SP1 directly to the GC3 as an access point.
Turn on Access Point on the GC3 and try to connect the SP1 directly to the GC3. Use the network key presented on the GC3 when entering the password for the access point on the SP1. Do you still see the same issues?
I connected both of my SP1’s to the GC3 via the access point, over the last two days it has been very stable so it seems to work better than the SP1 direct wireless router access.
Question: When I set up the GC3 access point wireless network I use the auto setup and not the manual option. Would it be preferable to set it on manual and save the GC3 assigned IP address? I did a manual (static IP) save on the LAN router wireless set up because it was more stable.
Question: Under the latest firmware update have you seen any stability issues related to wireless access on the SP1

No, you should just leave the access point settings automatically generated, no need to change the IP. Only the SP1 would be connecting to it.

No, we have not seen anything on test systems, but general connectivity would be dependent on the model and settings of your router as well. We always pass along router info if available to the manufacturers in cases of error reporting. What you were seeing may be a bug where it cannot gracefully handle certain cases. Access point mode should resolve this by removing the home network from the equation.
Each of my SP1’s are occasionally telling me that the device is not connected but paired with a control panel and the network is down (see attached photo).
Each of the SP1’s were connected to the GC3 via the access point back on November 19th as you suggested and the SP1 units have shown to have a more stable wireless connection to my GC3 vs the router connection, but each SP1 unit still tells me that the network is down several times daily and it will take up to 10 minutes to reconnect wirelessly, the screen tells me that the network is down!
Several times over the last week one or both SP1 units fail to reconnect and gave me a blank screen which is unresponsive. The two buttons on right will be illuminated but when I try to reboot the system by holding both buttons down for 20 seconds it fails to reboot. I am forced to power down the SP1 and subsequent power reboot successfully connects and pairs with the GC3 panel.

Has this issue been reported by others?
That description sounds more like a software bug/crash than signal related. I don’t recall that specific description, and it is likely related to the firmware version.
Network connectivity issues in the past have otherwise been resolved fully by Access Point mode, and network issues wouldn’t cause the panel to be otherwise completely unresponsive.
We will report this to 2GIG and provide any troubleshooting or response.
Curious, how long is the cable run between the SP1 and transformer for each? Be sure each has its own transformer. They must not share one 2GIG transformer.
One SP1 is 20 feet the other has about a 50 feet cable run, the original hardwire alarm wiring for these units used a 8 line telephone wire (22 gauge), since the distance is so long I doubled up an use two wires for both my positive and negative terminals, and each unit has their own dedicated transformer that came with the SP1.
The system was very stable and remained connected via my router LAN prior to firmware update to v 3.2.0.6581 back around early November…
