I have 4 door sensors, 3 of the doors are metal. Should I mount the senor in the door if I have a metal door? Or does it matter?

Recessed wireless door sensors should not be installed in a metal door. I would recommend surface contacts. You can install the sensor in the frame if it is wood and shouldn’t have too much trouble with the signal.

I have two metal hollow core doors with DW20R sensors (another in a wood door), and have no issues whatever. On a vinyl sliding glass I have a DW10.

I only put the DW10 contacts on doors where I can’t drill into them (e.g., vinyl).
