What about how much power it uses per hour by kilowatts or watts?The power P in watts (W) is equal to the current I in amps (A), times the voltage V in volts (V):

P(W) = I(A) × V(V)

watt = amp × volt

1.7(I) x 14(V) =23.8(P)

So… approx. 24 Watts

14VDC x 1.7A is the maximum power the 2GIG panel can consume as that’s the maximum the transformer is rated at. This might be when the siren is blaring, the screen is lit up and there are the maximum amount of wired peripheral devices being powered by the panel. It should usually consume less than that. Luckily the 2GIG panel itself is an energy monitoring system so we can plug it’s transformer into a Z-Wave switch that measures energy consumption and use Alarm.com to find out the average. Sounds like a fun experiment.
