Thank you

Happy to help! The sensor to use will largely be determined by the needs of the location and intended purpose.
In many cases they are interchangeable, but there are some slight differences.
The 5800PIR-RES is a pet immune motion detector for animals up to 80 lbs. (the weight is just an estimate for the common size of animals of that weight, not a hard value)
The 5800PIR-RES does not have sensitivity settings I believe.
The 2GIG-PIR1-345 has variable general sensitivity settings for low and high, as well as variable Pet Immunity, 33 lbs. or 55 lbs.
If you have a larger pet, the Honeywell is your best bet.
If you have pets, either one of these can be set off depending on what furniture is in their field of view and the pet’s likelihood of jumping on that furniture. Cats cause a great deal of false alarms with motion detectors.
As far as the motion detection, is Honeywell better than 2gig? The detection patterns in the brochure look like more on they Honeywell.
In general they are largely interchangeable. To say one is better is subjective, and it is better to fit your choice to your environment and budget.
The PIR1-345 claims a wider capture range at 30’ X 50’, while the Honeywell claims a further one at 35’ X 40’.
From experience, the mounting angle will do more to affect range and capability than changing between the two models. Mounting height for the two is identical.
The PIR1-345 has a variable mounting bracket allowing for some easy wide variation in coverage, or it can be installed without the bracket.
I will say the Honeywell will likely have a little longer battery life when all things are equal, but that is heavily dependent on usage.
Thanks. It’s hard to figure out. The Honeywell lists all of its specs and zones and the 2gig doesn’t.
On your store the 2gig pir1 lists a 90 degree lookdown but on their install manual the lens pattern does not show a lookdown. Do you know if the 2gig does have this feature? And is it active in low sensitivity with pet immune?
Thanks
The bullet points come from 2GIG’s website here. The 90 degree look down referred to here is not the same as the HoneyWell 5800 motion detector, which has a downward facing detection pattern in addition to the standard spread. 2GIG support states their’s is in reference to the widely adjustable mounting bracket, the sensitivity setting would not affect it.
Makes sense. Thank you.
