2GIG Panel Tamper

We had a Tamper Alarm even trigger the alarm in the middle of the night (3 AM) with no apparent reason.

Can anyone shed some light as to what could have caused a “panel tamper” trigger. The 2GIG panel is fixed securely in place in on the wall and the power cables make solid connections.

Is there any detailed logging on the panel itself that contains more info about the condition that triggered the alarm?

The event log doesn’t seem to reflect the chronology of events around the “Tamper” event on 08/29/16. It shows that a user disarmed the system via mobile app before the alarm was triggered. Am I reading it incorrectly?

You can check the history on a 2GIG Panel itself by “Security - Menu - Toolbox - Master Code - System History”

What time does it report a tamper at the panel?

Have you done any work on the panel recently? When you open the 2GIG Panel, near the top to the left of the set screw will be a plastic protrusion which depresses and holds closed the tamper switch. The tamper switch should have a rubberized cover. Make sure the plastic arm is not cracked or broken, and make sure the cover to the tamper switch is intact.

Does the panel report tamper properly when opened and closed?

The time reported in the event log for the mobile command is when it is sent. We can see in the history that the mobile command was not acknowledged by the panel until after the tamper.
