2GIG Panel Battery Still Showing Low After Power Outage

We had a power outage from midnight to about 7:30 this morning. The backup battery gave up the ghost around 5am.
I’m still getting a notification in the alarm.com app this evening of a low system battery.
Does the battery recharge very slowly, or is it time for a new battery?

We took a look at this account, and it looks like the battery reported ok in the early morning today.

It does often take a little while for the back-up battery to recharge, especially if it was fully drained. How long from when power restored until the battery ok notification?

They are designed to provide roughly 24 hour battery backup. If you are noticing less and less, it may be time for a new battery. How old is this battery pack?

This is a GoControl panel, right?

5 hours for the battery is not good. The standard battery that came with panel should provide somewhere near a 24 hr period for backup power for burglary system only.

Contrary to what most people assume, the battery pack that comes with the panel is not rated for use with systems equipped with fire alarms/smoke detectors, and it cannot provide the 24 hr backup as required under National fire codes (NFPA 72), and UL985.

The batteries are only good for approx. 3 years in any event, and each year they will lose approx. 20% of rated capacity whether they are used or not.

The series of events:

2/23 12:19 AM Power Failure (We have our system set up to report an AC failure after 1 minute)
2/23 5:19 AM Low Battery
By 6AM the panel was dead.
2/23 7:19 AM Power was restored

2/24 12:43 AM Battery OK.

This is the first extended power outage we’ve had since we installed the system.

I’m not sure how old the battery is, or which one it is, the unit was given to me by a friend.
I will get a new battery on order.

Thank you!

Yep, all evidence points to that battery pack being on its last legs. You definitely want a new one at this point.
