I have suretyhome service with Alarm.com using my 2gig GC3 panel. We are preparing to move and will be disconnecting our internet service, but will retain our monitoring for now.
Will we lose any significant capability (e.g., remote access/monitoring of the system) due to this? Or will we retain all relevant functionality via 4G? I can’t remember precisely what the panel’s WiFi functionality was supposed to do.

Wifi broadband is used or concurrent backup communication for the alarm panel. The broadband connection is not required, all alarm commands and remote control can be performed through cellular. This means you wouldn’t lose any control/monitoring of devices connected to your panel, like security sensors and z-wave devices.
Cameras, if applicable, would not be able to continue functioning however as they require internet connection. Likewise if you have any MyQ Garage, Lutron, Irrigation devices, etc., connected to your account that need internet access.
