2GIG GC3 secondary Touch Screen Panel

In the Alarm.com interface, I do have the “panel not communicating” option selected. Thank you

Question: If Alarm.com can communicate over the cell network but the Wi-Fi internet path is down, will I receive a message informing me that just the Wi-Fi internet path is not available or does both paths need to be down in order to receive notification? i.e. basically stating that Alarm.com can not communicate over either path.

In the alarm.com interface they have a notifications selection option that reads ==> “the backup phone line is disconnected”. As such, I was hoping that alarm.com would add a notification to their selection list that read something like “Internet path not available”.

I would rather know there is an issue with a given path sooner than later and not find out a path has been having a problem only when both are not available.

Appreciate if you can explain how this notification is going to work.

Thank you

These would be tied together. There is currently no separate notification for Broadband failure, although if broadband failure occurs, it will be indicated as a trouble condition when you log into Alarm.com in the issues box at the top.

The panel itself will also present the failure as a trouble condition with Q33-35 in programming.

I would agree with this and prefer it this way myself. We’ve requested that Alarm.com add a separate notification option to System Actions to Watch for Dual Path similar to the phone line failure.

Glad to hear you have made a request to Alarm.com to add a separate notification option to watch for Dual path.

Sure hope they implement it. This would be very helpful.

Appreciate the help

Thank you

From reading this thread, it sounds like the SP2 is out now, but the SP1 isn’t ready yet. However, I can’t seem to find the SP2 for sale anywhere in the Surety store. If the SP2 really is available now, then where can I buy it?

thanks,
–Andrew

You can find the SP2 here.

Thank you Jason - It seemed strange to me as well but I couldn’t really validate if it is something I am doing wrong or not and was hoping for a quick ‘switch, knob or similar’ that I missed…

You are correct - I am a SuretyDIY customer for various accessory equipment but a customer of a local service provider. I will try and figure it out through them directly.

btw - This support forum is very helpful for the curious / prosumer types and I enjoy frequenting them & buying stuff from you and equally appreciate your ongoing support and valuable time in running this forum.

We’re always happy to help! In this circumstance I think you will want to verify that account permissions have not changed first.

I doubt this applies, but just in case, are you using your primary Alarm.com login or a secondary login? Make sure that the login you are using has access to all automation features.
