I’m torn between the older 2Gig GoControl panel and the GoControl 3. My biggest hangup on using the newer panel is that it does not yet support 2-way Central Station communication, primarily because I want to catch false alarms before they are called into Emergency Services (I have a 4 year old who will open armed doors and will play with the panels capacitive buttons). Is this a feature that will be added soon via a firmware update or something that the panel simply will not support?
Technically 2-way through the GC3 is supported and there. You can use the GC3 with it, but I would do so with a little cautious optimism. It works, but we have noticed problems with its performance in side-by-side comparison with other systems. There are issues that will need to be addressed, namely the sensitivity of controls and mic/speaker drop out at lower volumes.
Compared to the 2GIG GC2 (GoControl) the GC3 2Way provides much clearer voice communication with almost no static, but lower volume or more distant speech tends to drop out completely, compared to the GC2 where even whispers come through just fine, and the controls operators use to accept calls are finicky and do not perform as well yet as other panels’ controls.
It’s no doubt an issue for firmware adjustment, and we’ve been reporting the issues to the manufacturer so hopefully it gets addressed early.
I just noticed that the SuretyDIY store does not sell thermostats compatible with the GC3. Are there any thermostat options for the GC3 right now?
