I recently installed a 2GIG GC3 and everything works well except for the 2way voice. When I tested my alarm system by setting it off, the central station came over the panel. Initially they could hear me and I could hear them. After a few seconds their voice was going in and out. I did not know if they were still there. I kept saying hello, and after a few seconds I could hear them again. When I tried to communicate with them, they did not respond. Then it was obvious that the call was dropped. I called the central station. They told me that they could only hear me part of the time. My panel has firmware version 3.01. My cell signal strength according to the panel is 3/6. I tried 3 times testing the 2way voice. Each time I had the same results.
We’ve noticed that the 3.0.1 update did not seem to resolve all of the audio drop concerns and we are following up with the manufacturer on these cases.
The signal strength you are reporting is plenty high enough that it should not affect performance.
As a test, if you power cycle the panel by unplugging transformer, then internal battery, wait a minute, then plug in battery and transformer again, do subsequent tests have any difference?
I did what you said and the 2way voice is working now. I am going to test it some more to make sure… The Central Station did not have a description of the zone that set the alarm off. All they knew was zone 3… Can you get them my zone list to them ? … Thank You…
