I want to put a sensor on the gate to my pool. The sensor needs to be relatively small to fit on the gate frame. Additionally, it must be able to be installed in an area that will get wet and have outdoor temperature changes (-10deg / 110deg). I thought about mounting a normal 2Gig sensor in a weather proof enclosure (I saw a video of this a few years back here), but those enclosures are too big and bulky for the door frame.
Yes, that 100% works with the GC2. I’ve used this sensor many times for outdoor applications. I would double check the dimensions that you need though because this isn’t super small.
Something else that i have done might be what you’re talking about with the 2gig sensors… But i have taken a 2gig DW10 and hardwired it to a garage door contact (https://www.surveillance-video.com/security-2507ad-l.html/). The 2gig DW10 sensor was in a waterproof enclosure.
But i would highly recommend going with that Honeywell 5816OD sensor though!
This sensor is arguably the best for this type of application. The sensor is 2.01" W x 4.25" H x 1.4" D inches to give you an idea of its size and how that fits in to your project.
