I recently installed a new 2GIG edge system in my home and after adding some Ultra Pro 700 Z-Wave Dimmer switches I constantly get a message on the screen saying “Z-Wave Indicator Command Class Received: NODE ID = 0x4” when the switch is used manually. The switch is working correctly both manually and remotely I just keep getting this message on the screen. Any help with this would be appreciated.
Can you confirm the name of this switch in Alarm.com? Do you have multiple of the same model and are they all doing this? Or is it just one of the nodes which is reporting this message when toggled locally?
The names match up between the panel and Alarm.com I currently have 4 switches so far connected to the panel 2 regular switches and 2 dimmers the 2 dimmers are both causing this message to pop up on the screen the regular switches do not cause the message.
Your devices are not reporting the model type information in ADC and none of them display as dimmers. All the lights show as switches in the Z-wave list I see.
So that we can assist, can you confirm the names as they appear in ADC of the 2 devices which are experiencing this message on the panel when toggled?
It is possible those devices have a compatibility issue or they are sending data to the panel it doesn’t expect, handled by displaying that message. I would delete and relearn one of those switches and see if the behavior continues as a next step.
Hmm interesting. They both show as dimmers on my alarm.com app and the website as well. I will try removing them and adding them back
OK I just removed both dimmer switches and then added one back in. When it connects it says its a multi function switch and automatically tags it as a dimmer. Same issue as before when I control the lights from the app no issues but when I push the button on the physical switch the same message pops up (with a new node number of course)
It looks like those are no longer showing on the account. Were they deleted again? Sending a command to check the equipment list just returns the other two switches and a lock.
I would recommend updating the firmware of the Edge panel to 1.3 first, then retry learning the devices. Leave them connected if possible and we can investigate how they are reporting on our end.
Sorry yes I removed the dimmers and was going to see if I could update their firmware by connecting to another z-wave hub but there were no updates available. I will try updating the panel and report back. Thanks!
Thanks Jason! After updating the panel the message no longer pops up.
Thank you for confirming, glad to hear that resolved it!
