I’m guessing this model was discontinued? Why? Is the replacement improved? How so? Was trying to avoid replacing the mounting plate. Mine just died and hit it’s expiration date.
That is correct, the Co3-345 has been discontinued and replaced with the 2GIG CO8-345.
While the units are similar in function, they are different shapes and the new backplate included with the CO8 would be utilized instead. The 2GIG-CO8-345 features enhanced sensor battery life (10 years) and improved carbon monoxide detection over the 2GIG CO3-345 sensor. Programming steps would be the same.
I purchased one from you and installed.
Is the only way to tell that its working is to push the test button? Is there a LED that blinks every now and then to indicate its operational?
And if I push the test button, do I need to notify dispatch first to let them know I am testing?
Like other 2GIG sensors, it has a supervision interval of 70 minutes to let the panel know that the device is signaling.
If you test it via the button, yes you would want to place your monitoring account in test mode. You can do that via phone with the operators or via the System Manager.
