I’ve purchased this 2GIG 5816 W/D Sensor and I’ve tried triggering it after installing it, but no matter what position I put the magnet or separated it from the sensor, it wouldn’t react on the Panel and would stay on the " Door Opened" Message on the display board. In order to pair it to the panel, I had to open the sensor battery component during the “Learn” step and that’s where the trigger allowed for the panel to Learn the sensor, but after closing it back and using the magnet to try to trigger an Open/Close event, I was unable to achieve it.

I’m happy to take a look at programming for that Honeywell 5816. What is the zone number or name for that sensor currently in the panel?
There are a couple things to check first:
This sensor needs to be programmed as Loop 2 if you are using the reed switch and magnet. Loop 1 is for the wired input.
Double check the TXID on the sensor labels vs what was learned into the panel for that zone. If you have motion detectors where you might trip them during programming, sometimes the wrong TXID might populate unexpectedly.
I will need to get back to you on this one, because after I noticed it wouldn’t work, I removed it from the Panel to prevent constant notification of an “Open Door” or a False alarm because of it.
