Feature: Hourly Supervision

The connectivity of modules is checked by Alarm.com depending on the supervision period that is chosen for your account.

The security system reports a Panel Not Responding signal when the system fails a consecutive amount of modem pings. The time between the pings is set by the supervision period.

The supervision period is the amount of time the system waits to send automated pings to determine if your panel is not responding. This pinging time is also known as polling time. Automated pings are sent after a period of inactivity.

The supervision period can be set to either:

  • 6 Hour (default). Alarm.com pings the module every 115 minutes. If three of these pings are consecutively missed, Alarm.com sends a Panel Not Responding signal to report that there has been no communication for 6 hours.
  • Hourly. Alarm.com pings the module every 15 minutes. If three of these pings are consecutively missed, Alarm.com sends a Panel Not Responding signal to report that there has been no communication for the last hour.
